time to have a little cake for the weekend

such a fun depressing song

portishead is one of those bands that consistently produce great music but remain relatively unknown. i particularly love the instrumental part in the last minute or so of this song with the old synth sound and driving beat. this song comes from the album “third” and if you like this one go check out the rest…it’s great.
i just realized this: may the 14th was david byrne’s birthday, the 15th was brian eno’s birthday and today, the 16th, is robert fripp’s birthday. three amazing musicians who’s music i love.
happy 67th mr. fripp
young neil ;)
just finished this one yesterday…the greatest canadian export.

another beautiful acoustic number and the singers (Isaac Brock) shaky, fragile voice makes it quite touching.

this song is killer…the guitar solo (by robert fripp) kicks some serious ass. don’t take my word for it, listen.

amazing album, great song…bauhaus covered it but this is the original.

I suppose the quality I’ve always liked in music is the sense of being baffled… ‘God, I like this, but I don’t know why!’
